We at Holmes Candles honor the quality of our forefathers. Ira Holmes was born in 1874. At a very young age, Ira started working on the William Conner Farm. The farm that he worked on is still there, known as Conner Prairie (https://www.connerprairie.org/). It has been a part of our family’s life for over 140 years.
Ira worked with the horses on the farm, and making candles was part of everyday life. Today the Conner farm is a hands-on activity area. Visitors may play and work as people did in 1836, by participating in dipping candles, spinning yarn, sawing logs and playing games of the past.
Holmes Candles has kept the handmade personal touch in all of our candles. We make our fragrances to remind you of the simpler times.
Let us clear your mind with the soothing sense of the past.
